Opening hours:  Monday to Friday 8.50 am – 11.30 am
Some afternoon appointments are also available.  Services provided include dressings, blood sampling, ear syringing, ECGs, immunisations, holiday vaccinations (including yellow fever) and travel advice. 

Clinics

These are held throughout the week and more information about the clinics listed below is available from reception

Antenatal
This clinic is run by the midwives at the Westgate Centre, Yate. If you become pregnant, you will need to arrange a booking appointment by ringing the midwives on 315355 during office hours. At your booking appointment the midwife will ask you a few questions and carry out some general health checks. You will be seen regularly throughout your pregnancy. 

Child Health & Immunisation
Mondays 2.00 pm – 3.30 pm
All new babies are invited for regular check-ups from eight weeks old.

Minor Surgery
Tuesday 1-2 pm
Minor operations can be done in our treatment room. Please discuss this with your doctor who will then arrange for you to be given an appointment.

Wart Clinic
Our Nurse Manager also runs a regular Wart Clinic.

Nurse Services
Asthma, cervical smear, contraceptive services, diabetic, heart disease, hypertension, stop smoking, stroke and health checks for all ages. Our nursing team provide specialist advice and support in these areas

Travel Vaccinations

If you require any vaccinations relating to foreign travel you need to make an appointment with the practice nurse to discuss your travel arrangements.  Please complete the travel questionnaire at the bottom of this page at least 2 working days prior to your appointment.

It is important to make the initial appointment as early as possible  - at least 6 weeks before you travel - as a second appointment may be required with the practice nurse to receive all the vaccinations.  Your second appointment needs to be at least 2 weeks before you travel to allow the vaccines to work.

Although travel vaccinations are not an NHS service, some of the vaccinations are provided free of charge. Courtside Surgery is a Yellow Fever Centre. The charge for a Yellow Fever vaccination is currently £49. There is also a charge for some other vaccinations and maleria prevention tablets. The nurse will discuss your options at your initial appointment. You will know what charges apply before any vaccinations are given.

Sickness Certificates

You do not require a doctor's sickness certificate for any illness lasting seven days or less. Your employer may however require you to complete a self-certification form (SC2) which is available from your employer or at our reception or on the HMRC website.

For any illness lasting longer than seven days you will need to see the doctor for him/her to issue a sickness certificate (F.med3) and for any subsequent renewal of the certificate. If your employer insists on a sickness certificate for 7 days or less a charge will be levied.

Specialist & Hospital Care

If a GP or another member of our health care team believes you need hospital treatment or specialist care elsewhere, they will offer you the choice of where you would like to go so that you can be referred appropriately.

If you are referred through the Choose and Book system you will also be able to book your own appointment at a time that suits you.
