Improvements to Phone Lines

As from Monday 4th December 2023 you may hopefully notice some improvements to our phone lines.

To keep up to date with the latest technology we will be moving to a digital telephone supplier, Surgery Connect where the way the calls come into the surgery will be filtered slightly differently.

Some of the noticeable changes for patients will be:

  • To have a call back function available to save sitting on hold when we are exceptionally busy.
  • To have a daily designated phone line for prescription queries during the operating hours of 9:00am – 2:00pm
  • To have a daily designated phone line for referral queries from 9:00am – 3:00pm

The switch to our new system is due to take place around 10:00am. We are hopeful there will be no downtime during the transfer, but please bear with us whilst we navigate the new phone system.

Please also remember, to save waiting on the phone we do have our eConsult facility available via our website where you can fill in an electronic appointment request, sick note request or seek general medical advice. This service is already available 24 hours a day.

From the morning of Tuesday 5th December, we will be opening our phone lines from the new time of 8:00am – 6.30pm (an extra 30 minutes earlier)
